DESCRIPTION:If you’ve never done it\, you have to try it at least once!\nIf you’re already done it\, you’ll want to do it again!\nIt’s time to kick back and float down the emerald river Aare. \nItinerary: \n\n10:00 – Everyone meets up at the Bern Hauptbahnhof to take the 10:16 train to Uttigen. Duration 32 minutes.\n11:00 – We are on the Aare!\n3-4 hours later\, or ~15:00\, we make landing on the shores of Eichholz Park in Bern!\n\nNo doubt some people would prefer not to go on the watery expedition\, and would rather meet up with us at Eichholz\, where we will be chilling and grilling into the late afternoon.\nAs this event requires the best of weather\, we will be keeping Saturday the 10.08.2024 as another possible window. In other words\, if Saturday the 10.08.2024 is perfect weather\, we will change this event to that Saturday instead. \nUttingen: Boats and water vests can be rented from here\, and there is also a pumping station to inflate your own boat for Fr5 a boat.

SUMMARY:Niederhorn Hike
DESCRIPTION:The Niederhorn-to-Gemmenalphorn hike is one of the most enjoyable hikes we have ever done. Most of the way is spent hiking along the top of the mountain range\, with incredible views in every direction. The flora and fauna also do not disappoint\, and it’s fairly common to see Steinbock (Ibex) and Chamoix – in fact\, last time we went\, we were less than two meters from a Steinbock (see photo)!\nThe itinerary would look something like this: \n\n11:00 – Everyone meets up at the Beatenberg Station (view on Map) from where we take the Bergbahn up to Niederhorn. (18 minute ride)\n11:30 to 12:30/13:00 – We have Lunch at the top\, overlooking the Thunersee and Berner Alpe. People are welcome to bring picnics or order something from the restaurant.\n12:30/13:00 to 16:30/17:00 – We Hike! The route is 10km of mostly level and then downhill terrain. Estimated duration is 3h20min\, but we calculate ~4hrs to be safe.\n~ 17:00 – Everyone is at the bus stop (Beatenberg\, Schorren)\, and we take the 13 minute bus ride back to Beatenberg Station.\n\nHow does that sound?\n\nIn case of the weather not being good on the 28.07.24\, we would postpone it to the next Sunday on the 04.08.24.\n
